Mamadou is based in Dakar, Senegal and serves as NRGI’s Interim Regional Manager for Francophone West and Central Africa. Mamadou oversees NRGI’s work in Senegal, Guinea and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mamadou joins NRGI with more than 15 years of experience promoting democratic accountability, strategic planning, conflict resolution and civil society capacity development in Senegal and across the region. He served as program director for the Gorée Institute, one of Africa’s leading research and advocacy organizations pushing for more peaceful, equitable and just societies and for good governance. He has served as an expert consultant on electoral processes in numerous countries across Africa, and has a strong network among governments and civil society groups, including with several NRGI partners. Among these partners, Mamadou has deep connections with key stakeholders in Senegal, which will help NRGI continue to strengthen our influence as we expand our work there.
Mamadou has a diploma of advanced studies in political science from the Université Paris 1 Sorbonne, and a degree in economics and management from the Université Dakar Bourguiba.
