The Center for Excellence in Governance of Extractive Industries in Francophone Africa (CEGIEAF), at the Catholic University of Central Africa in Yaoundé, Cameroon, in partnership with the Revenue Watch Institute and the French foreign ministry, will host an international conference for a critical evaluation of efforts to monitor resource governance in the region's oil, gas and mining industries.

The conference, which will take place 22-24 August 2014, in Yaoundé, will contribute to an improvement of these mechanisms by guiding civil society organizations' (CSOs), journalists', and parliamentarians' efforts with respect to resource management at regional, national, and local levels.

The conference will also have a scientific dimension, and is open to researchers, academics, civil society actors, parliamentarians, public officials, private sector actors, technical partners, and investors. View ways to contribute here.

The conference will take place concomitantly with CEGIAF's fourth annual summer school program on governance in the extractive industries, which will run from 18 to 30 August 2014, also in Yaoundé. More details are available here.
