The 2019 Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative Global Conference took place on 17-19 June at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Conference Centre in Paris. The conference provided an opportunity for heads of state, civil society activists and industry leaders to discuss emerging trends and best practices in the good governance of natural resources. Extractive industries can generate substantial revenues—but how do we measure, report and utilize information on environmental and social impacts to ensure good governance of natural resources?
