The 2022 edition of Financial Times (FT) Energy Transition Summit will be held in London 17-19 October 2022. The event will feature a half day of digital content, followed by two days of in-person discussions, networking and exclusive roundtables. 

Session: Delivering a Just Energy Transition (Featuring NRGI's Nafi Chinery)

The discussion will cover the following topics:
  • One year on from COP26, what has been the impact of the ‘Just Energy Transition Partnership' to support South Africa’s move away from coal? 
  • Can it be used as a model for implementation across the world?
  • What alternatives are best to displace coal in terms of jobs and community options?
  • To what extent do efforts on delivering a just transition focus on the global south and overlook a global just transition?
