The International Open Data Conference, or IODC, will take place on 6 and 7 October and is a meeting point for the global community to debate and study the future of open data. Pre-conference events will run from 3 October to 5 October.
The conference aims to build stronger relationships between open data initiatives from the different governments and establish a dialogue between policymakers and public sector information (PSI) holders; private companies, startups and freelancers; activists and NGOs; and data journalists.
Titled “Global Goals, Local Impact,” the fourth IODC gathers countries from the northern and southern hemispheres to define tendencies and establish global policies of collaboration, with the objective of stimulating the progress of open data globally. It will reconvene an expanding community to showcase successes, confront shared challenges, and help ensure that our vision and our diverse initiatives continue to coordinate effectively.

The Civil Society members of the OGP Steering Committee invite you to join them for the OGP Strategy Dialogues, an opportunity for the civil society community to shape OGP's future direction and work. You will be joined by incoming OGP steering committee members Helen Darbishire, (@helen_access) founder and director of Access Info Europe; Robin Hodess, USA group director of advocacy and research with Transparency International, and Suneeta Kaimal.
These online and offline conversations have taken place at open government related conferences held over the past couple of months, as well as through online webinars facilitated by the OGP steering committee members. For more details on this initiative by the steering committee, read this blog post by the civil society co-chairs Alejandro Gonzalez, executive director of GESOC, and Manish Bapna (@ManishBapnaWRI), president of the World Resources Instiute.
We want to co-create the priorities for the next phase of OGP's work, which which will be informed by the OGP Strategic Refresh. Share your perspectives on the challenges you see in OGP in your country; tell us what works and what doesn't.
