The Americas Regional Meeting of the Open Government Partnership, hosted in Buenos Aires, will bring over 2,000 representatives from governments and civil society, digital innovators, developers, journalists, and researchers to share their experience and further the open government agenda in the face of current global challenges.

Open Government and the Extractive Industries

Why does good governance of the oil, gas and mining sector matter? What initiatives exist in Latin America to promote transparency and fight corruption in the sector? What role for civil society? Based on comparative examples, this panel will address the challenges and opportunities of promoting open government in the extractive industries.
