Mineral supply chains were already exposed to heightened corruption risk under normal circumstances; the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this risk—and its impact. The OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas recommends that all companies along mineral supply chains, from the miner to the final product manufacturer, combat bribery and corruption linked to minerals production and trade. The new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document aims to help companies better identify and address risks of bribery and corruption in mineral supply chains.

The session discussed the heightened risk in mineral supply chains and presented how the OECD can help companies address these risks with its new FAQ document.

Featuring:

Rashad Abelson, legal expert, OECD
Alexandra Gillies, advisor, NRGI
Luca Maiotti, policy analyst, OECD.
