Maria Camila adapts projects and approaches to successfully achieve reform, adoption of leading practices, and better governance in Colombia.

Prior to NRGI Maria Camila worked in the oil and gas sector, contributing to the analysis and development of projects for Ecopetrol Group’s 2040 Strategy in Colombia. For two years she worked on renewable energy projects such as solar, hydrogen and the development of decarbonization strategies (including CCUS and sustainable ecosystems). She also worked on the update of the social focus of Ecopetrol’s ESG policy. Maria Camila has also worked in the consulting sector undertaking public policy, economic, legislative, and regulatory analysis for the energy and health industries. She maintains a particular interest in carbon markets and natural climate solutions.

Maria Camila has an undergraduate degree economics and another in government and public affairs, both from Andes University. She also specialized in renewable energy regulation and energy efficiency at the Universidad Externado de Colombia.
